Jeremiah 9:24 Bragging, Trophy Case

Jeremiah 9:24 “But let the one bragging about himself brag about himself because of this very thing, the having of insight and the having of knowledge of me, that I am Jehovah, the One exercising loving-kindness, justice and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I do take delight,” is the utterance of Jehovah.

Look into any trophy case and you notice three things about the prized possession:
  1. The item is displayed proudly and prominently.
  2. The item is safeguarded, protected from harmful elements and thieves.
  3. The item is enthusiastically, readily spoken about.
Do we view our relationship with God that way? Does it possess a prominent position in our life--giving it number one priority? Do we safeguard our faith from immorality and worldly thinking? Might employment, health, entertainment or other issues "steal" our prized possession? Finally, do we truly find studying God’s Word invigorating and readily showcase our prize by telling others about it?
